Travel Log
So this week I’m in Rosemont Illinois, which likes to consider itself “South Chicago” but really it’s just an industrial park with expensive restaurants lightly sprinkled in. I don’t really want to talk about Rosemont.
What I do want to talk about are the three cities I did earlier this month, San Jose, Phoenix and Boston. That tri-cities tour was great. San Jose is a nice town, but we had really lousy weather while we were there. Cold and rainy every day and night. Still though we had a good time when we weren’t working, (and a pretty good time when we were working).
The best Indian food I ever had was 3 weeks ago in San Jose, at Hanuman. I don’t remember the name of the dish we ordered, but it was served inside a half a pineapple and it was amazing.
Flew from San Jose to Phoenix and had the next day off, so I spent that day exploring the town via the light rail system, which is awesome by the way. Tremendous weather while we were in Phoenix and just a great town. I’d never been there before except to change planes at PHX and I really liked it a lot. Can’t wait to go back.
In Phoenix, the crew and I explored the mysteries of Irish pubs in the desert which was a lot of fun. The best was Rula Bula which is in Tempe. According to the locals I met and worked with, the entire bar was brought over from Ireland. I can’t vouch for that myself, but I can vouch for the Shepards Pie.
Final leg of the tour was Boston. What can I say, I love Boston. TC’s Dive Bar, Bukowski’s, and Kings, to name a few of my favorite spots. Gotta get pizza at Little Stevies every time I’m in the city.
And now I’m in Rosemont. Cold, crappy Rosemont. Oh well, you take the good with the bad I guess.
